Safety is everything. There's no other way to put it. Every morning, at every job site, Flag Men conduct safety briefings to provide employees and subcontractors with a comprehensive list of potential safety concerns and information for the day. On top of this, all superintendents are required to participate in Tool Box Talks. These specific training sessions happen weekly, all year long, come from Caterpillar and OSHA, and are delivered by our full-time safety director. Polivka International is dedicated to mitigating risk on our job sites.
Further proof of our dedication to safety is the training we provide to everyone who works for Polivka International. All Polivka International superintendents, project managers and our safety director are required to become certified in the “Train the Trainer” Railroad Workers Safety Program. It ensures field safety training and compliance for each of our employees.
We also conduct formal reviews of all subcontractor safety ratings and procedures prior to awarding business.
It’s these steps that have helped us maintain an EMR rating of .70.
